Choosing Your Foundation

Slab Foundation

The most common foundation requiring the least amount of lot prep and usually preferred for a level lot, a slab foundation is a single layer concrete poured directly on grade.  Slab foundations are generally the most cost effective foundation and the most energy efficient.

Crawl Space Foundation

Preferred for both sloped and level lots, crawl space foundations are elevated from 16” to four feet off the ground and allow easy access to plumbing, heating and cooling systems and electrical wiring.  It is a good option for flood-prone and high moisture areas and often creates warmer floors.

Basement Foundation

Ideal for level lots, basement foundations offer extra living space on a partial or fully underground lower level.

Walkout Basement Foundation

Ideal for sloped lots, walkout basement foundations offer extra living space on a lower level with windows and/or exterior doors on one or more sides of the foundation that is exposed.
